Christmas Giveaway

Hope you're all staying warm.  We've had another sprinkling of the white stuff overnight so a day snuggled in the warm is in order.

As a thank you to followers, old and new, for sticking around for my wafflings, and because it's Christmas, my favourite time of year, I'm doing a little giveaway.

Up for grabs is a shiny new copy of the incredibly popular, and once ridiculously expensive, Daniela Turudich book "1940's Hairstyles".  I adore this book.  It's jam packed with helpful and clear instructions to help you on your way to the perfect 1940's barnet!  A must for anyone who wants to achieve an authentic '40s look :o).  You'll also get one of my felt anemone corsages and, because Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Cadbury's, a little box of Roses:o)

To make sure the book reaches it's lucky recipient in time for the impending festivities, I'm sorry to say that this is a UK only giveaway.  Fear not though lovely overseas followers, I'm planning another giveaway when my Facebook followers reach 1,000!

To be in with a chance of winning, you must be a follower of my blog via GFC or Bloglovin' or a follower of my Facebook page.

To enter, you can;

1. Leave a comment below telling me what your favourite Christmas song/carol is.  Please make sure you leave me a means of contacting you in case you're the lucky winner!!

2. For a second entry, simply share this giveaway on your own blog and then place a separate comment below to let me know you have  :o)
3. For a third entry, pop over to my Facebook page and tell me your favourite carol/song on the giveaway photograph.

Entry will close at 10pm on Sunday December 16th (Mr Y's birthday!) and the winner will be picked at random and announced on Monday December 17th (M's birthday!).

Good luck :o)

  1. Mine is In the Bleak Midwinter. My sister and I used to sing "In the Meek Blid Winter" (Having written that down, I now realise it ain't that funny). :)

    1. That's my favourite too! Don't know why, because it's not exactly jolly, but given the choice, it's always the one I'd sing :o) Thanks for the entry.

  2. Hi I love silent night. It makes me think of cosy winter nights by the fire with a glass of mulled wine and my 3 cats snoozing on the rug. Simple pleasures.

  3. Aw, this is a nice festive giveaway!

My favourite Christmas song is 'Don't stop the cavalry' made famous by Jona Louie, but I like the version sung by the Gwalia Male Voice choir!

    Porcelina xx

  4. My favourite is Mistletoe and Holly by Frank Sinatra. It just makes me feel so festive! Mum puts his christmas cd on very year since I was a baby and it wouldn't be christmas without it.

  12. My favorite Xmas song is "Petit Papa Noël" by Tino Rossi, our most famous french carol. It's a song from the 40's and reminds me my childhood waiting for Santa Claus to come...

  13. Lucy,
I'm not eligible to enter (as I'm currently sitting in Melbourne, Australia) but I was trying to get to your Facebook page. Your links only take me to FB and not your page. Wah! What should I search for??
    Merry Christmas from the sunshine,
    :) Leisa

    1. Hello Leisa,
I didn't realise the link wasn't working properly - that'll teach me to check next time :o) Have now corrected it so you should be able to find my page. If you can't, search for 1940's Style For You.
      Best wishes

  14. Oh goodness, I am the worst at picking just one favourite! However, the one which springs to mind, maybe because I am loving Nat King Cole at the moment, is the one which starts " Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..." The proper name escapes me and I can't ask Mr HH as he is already asleep! On the radio today, they suggested the best is "Fairytale in New York" which I really can't stand!

  15. I have quite a few 'favorite' Christmas songs/carols.....Merry Little Christmas by Bing Crosby or Frank Sinatra must enter my list...and Fairy Tale in New York (sorry Hen!) is also a must...I wont go on! :) x
