Heartfelt Thanks Giveaway!

I want to offer my sincere thanks to each and every one of you who read my last blog post.  I try to mostly keep the blog a happy space, and not whiter on about the duller parts of life, but I had been neglecting this page, and my Facebook page, for far too long, and felt that an explanation was warranted, hence my last ramblings.

I was worried that it was a little bit of a “woe is me”, whinge and whiney kind of post, but I have been overwhelmed by the number of supportive and kind comments and messages you have sent.  Every single message and comment has been gratefully received, thank you so much, you are all lovely!  It would appear that showing reality, showing that life isn’t all colourful crafting and vintage hunting, isn’t a bad thing after all!

As a token of my genuine thanks, I am giving away one of my handmade felt corsages.  As I know everyone has different tastes, it will be up to the winner to pick a corsage from my Etsy shop, or I can custom make one in their chosen colours.

Will it be a cheerful anemone, remembrance poppy, delightful daisy, colourful cluster or one of my other creations?

The giveaway is exclusive to the blog and won’t be on my Facebook page or IG feed.

What’s more, entry couldn’t be simpler.  All you have to do is be a follower of my blog, and to add a comment to this post.  That’s it.  No hoops to jump through, no sharing required, just a short, one word if you wish, comment – simples!!

The giveaway is open worldwide and entries can be made up until midnight GMT on July 10th.  The winner will be drawn shortly afterwards.

Good luck.
x

  1. It's so hard when work gets in the way of life. I do hope things are on the mend! I love your corsages and if I win it would be Poppy's to have a permanent corsage to wear as a reminder of our soldiers.

  22. Just read this post, and the one previous. It is so hard to see your husband's work take a toll on him. I know from experiencing this in our lives. So glad you realized what truly needed to be done and are taking the time to recover as a family..Hope it also provides some perspective for when he returns to work. I will keep you in my prayers, here in the US.

  27. Lucy, you don't need to apologise. Your last post was a long way from whiney or whinging. You and your husband have had a genuinely tough time lately. Don't worry about the peanut gallery (er - us, your readers).

Take care of yourself and your loved ones.

  28. Your blogs have been an inspiration to me to sort out my crafting life and decide what I really want to do, consequently I am now concentrating on a vintage-style knitting business, received huge positive response at a 1940s event at the weekend and picked up 4 orders already, so THANK YOU! I would love any of your corsages, it would go really lovely with the 40s fashion I am collecting together.

  29. Dear Lucy, although I very much want to, I don´t feel I can enter in your generous giveaway, since I already own four beloved corsages made by you! Bye the way, my absolute favorite is the posy cluster brooch - it's heavenly and will definitely be worn to death. However, I do want to write to say that you did exactly the right thing by your husband - I've been on sick leave due to burnout and it's one of the most horrifying things that can happen to you. Knitting literally saved my sanity, since there were months when I could do nothing else. I hope he'll have a quick recovery and that things will get back to (a good) normal after your vacation. I wish you all the best of luck!

I absolutely adore your blog. I love hats and collected them for years and aprons and apron patterns from the 30's and 40's and have one of my favorites which is the Victory Apron. I was so taken with your blog that I just had to tell you that you are a lady after my own heart. I was dismayed to hear that someone had stolen a valuable and irreplaceable piece from you while you were taking your family break. And, people don't stop to realize that because the tag says it is a size 14, in today's clothing it is a size 6-8. The sizes are so much smaller than today because people were so much smaller. That is why the top opening of the sweater you made (which by the way is wonderful) is so much smaller. Back then it probably slipped over the wearer's head without a problem. Please keep up the blogs and I am going to subscribe to yours just so I can read about the wonderful long past days. Glad you and hubby took that month for yourselves. Work is a necessity if you want to eat, but real life, love of family, is better than food any day!!!
